If you are having trouble accessing the WhatsUp Gold web interface, or WhatsUp Gold Mobile Access, please look over the information below to troubleshoot.

Supported browsers for the web interface

If after attempting to login to the WhatsUp Gold web interface you receive this error message:

"Your request could not be served because your browser is not supported. Supported browsers are Internet Explorer versions 6 and above and Firefox 1.5"

Download one of the following browsers:

Mozilla Firefox

Internet Explorer

Enable JavaScript

If after attempting to login to the WhatsUp Gold web interface you receive this error message:

"Your request could not be served because you have JavaScript disabled. Please enable JavaScript in your browser's settings, close your current web session and try again."

Enable Javascript for Windows Internet Explorer:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Tools > Internet Options.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Click the Custom level button.
  5. In the settings box, scroll down to the section on scripting
  6. In the Active scripting section, select Enable.
  7. Click OK to save changes.

Enable JavaScript for Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Select Tools > Options.
  3. Select the Content tab.
  4. Select Enable JavaScript.
  5. Click OK to save changes.

Enable cookies

If after attempting to login to the WhatsUp Gold web interface you receive this error message:

"Your request could not be served because you have browser cookies disabled. Please enable cookies in your browser's settings, close your current web session and try again."

Enable cookies for Windows Internet Explorer:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Tools > Internet Options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab.
  4. Select Advanced.
  5. Select Override automatic cookie handling.
  6. Click OK to save changes.

Enable cookies for Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Select Tools > Options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab.
  4. Select the Cookies tab.
  5. Select Allow sites to set cookies.
  6. Click OK to save changes.

Set security level to Medium-High

If after logging in to the web interface you find the GO menu to be inoperative, ensure that your Internet Explorer security level is set to Medium-High.

Set Windows Internet Explorer security level:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Tools > Internet Options.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Under Security levels for this zone, ensure that the level is set to Medium-High.

    Note: If the security level set to high, parts of the web interface (namely the GO menu) may not operate correctly.

  5. Click OK to save changes.

Trouble with WhatsUp Gold Mobile Access

Append /mobile to the end of the http:// address

Ensure that you have appended /mobile to the end of the http:// address and try logging in again.

Enable WhatsUp Gold Mobile Access

Ensure that you have enabled Mobile Access via the Manage Web Server dialog on the console and that the user account for which you are attempting to log in has the Mobile Access right enabled.

To enable WhatsUp Gold Mobile Access in the Manage Web Server configuration options:

  1. Go to the Manage Web Server dialog.
  2. From the web interface, click GO. The GO menu appears.
  3. If the WhatsUp section is not visible, click WhatsUp. The WhatsUp section of the GO menu appears.
  4. Select Configure > Manage Web Server. The Manage Web Server dialog appears.
  5. Select the Enable Mobile Access option.

To enable WhatsUp Gold Mobile Access in the Manage Users configuration options:

  1. Go to the Manage Users dialog.
  2. From the web interface, click GO. The GO menu appears.
  3. If the WhatsUp section is not visible, click WhatsUp. The WhatsUp section of the GO menu appears.
  4. Select Configure > Manage Users. The Manage Users dialog appears.
  5. Select a user that you want to give rights to access to WhatsUp Gold mobile features, then click Edit. The Edit User dialog appears.
  6. Under User Rights in the General options, click Mobile Access to enable the option.
